I am finally getting around to posting some pics of the new project. I was looking for a dually but couldn't pass this one up. I picked it up off a old fella that was an organic farmer and just used it to go back and forth to the market on the weekends. Man he is going to be pissed when I fly by his house slammed and cracken pipes. LOL It's up in the air weather or not I'm going to keep it as a SRW or convert to a dually. I hit up Lock about some custom 10 lug wheels he has for the SRW's but I wanted a dually to begin with. With this thing being a 1 ton can I just slap on some adapters , 22's and some hips? Are the front hubs the same as a dually's, I measured the back from the mounting plate to the leafs and I have 8 1/2 inches. So far I have started stripping the molding off the side, removed the nerf bars and the crome wheel well molding. If anyone wants the nerf bars or wheel molding let me know.

I think for the front you can get drop spindles and one of the guys on here makes control arms that you can use to push the front wheel out a little bit to run 22s on the front. For the rear, I think you can swap drums or maybe get a cab/chassis rearend....not completely sure on that. I say make it a dually man....especially if that is what you were looking for from the beginning.

Nice looking ride.

You can just bolt some adapters and wheels on in the front and ride out, however the wheels will set under the fenders a but due to the SRW hubs being different from the DRW.

In the rear the hubs are also different. You cannot run the 22 rear inners on these trucks due to clearance issues with the leafsprings. I think I have an idea about a wheels that may work on these trucks for an inner 22. I will have to do some fitment checks on one we have around here.

Man, really freakin' clean truck. What are the specs? Year, engine, trans, any comfort options inside?

You're gonna give that old man a heart attack when he sees what you do to it.

it's a 2000 with a 5.7 in it. I'm not sure about the trans or rear. It's it has overdrive. Did they put 700r4's in these trucks? and the rear I am guessing 4:11. I am tacing around 2300 rmps at 70mph. interior power everything cloth seats 60/40 bench up front. So if a standard inner 22 may not fit does that make a srw rear shorter then a C&C rear?

I think that the SRW and the C&C rear ends are close to being the same thing with just different hubs on them. I have never compared the 2 side by side though.

I had a truck just like that it had a 5.7L with the 4l80e trans and a 14 bolt with 4.10 or 4.11 gears.

Trev - the C&C rear is much narrower. The frame itself on the C&C is narrower than a regular pickup frame. I could probably measure a C&C from this body style at least from backing plate to backing plate, by visiting my bud with that blue C&C I helped him build a while back. Won't be able to get WMS to WMS though as I doubt he'll wanna take his back tires off just so I can get a measurement...

DBALL - no 700R4's used since 1992, it was replaced by the 4L60E, and those wouldn't come in a regular 8 lug 3/4 or a 1 ton at all. Your automatic will be the 4L80E which is sort of like a TH400 with overdrive added. Pretty tough transmission.

Check your glovebox for the SPID (service parts identification) sticker; any codes beginning with G. GT5 will be 4.10's, GT4 would be 3.7'3's but most likely you will be GT5.

If I can't run a 22 on the inner without changing the drums. Do you guys think I will be able to get away with a stock 16 inner and a 22 on the outside and get away with tucking with stock hips.
