I doubt it, seeing how most dana 60 axles come in full size 4WD trucks (like 86+ F-350's).

all i ever got was a chirp in third gear, and that was on a freshly rebuilt motor and new clutch

No, it does not have a Dana 60. I don't know where you got that idea. It has a Mazda axle.
Although if they did come with Dana 60s, that would explain why they are sluggish. Those axles weigh a lot.
