Trailblazer/Colorado struts

how in the hell do you get the lower strut mount off of the lower control arm??? ive pulled the coilover assembly out, but i cannot get the lower mount off to save my life. do i need to use a puller of some sort? cuz ive beat the hell outta that thing with a hammer with very little success.
