Okay my son's friend has like a 2003 s-10 blazer. Well the door bushings were bad and he didn't know he should do something about it, well he ended up busting out the actual striker bolt. It ripped all the metal behind it out, I welded the striker to what was left of the metal so at least the door would latch, he was driving around for several days just holding his door shut .

Well now I need to get it fixed right, I figured I need to cut a chunk of door jamb out of a donor vehicle and then weld it into his.

I guess my question is what would be the best way of fixing this?

And would anyone have a donor vehicle they could cut a chunk out of for me?

Do are the hinges screwed up? If so, I don't envy you. Why not just go to the bone yard and cut a piece out of the smashed up cab.

There is only one around here that would let you do it, but he is usually very high.

dunno if its any use to you but ive seen cars in europe that had a special nut behind the strikerbolt thats helt on by a spotwelded sheetmetal clip , they use this to finetune the strikerbolt up down front and back to fit to the lock .
if you can find a strikerbolt that fits the lock of the blazer wish uses allso this nut
you can weld that to the back of the sheetmetal inside the doorjamb that should be a strong enough solution and doesnt take a lot of cutting

There is no metal to bolt anything to.

thread post photo

It ripped the metal where I drew the red line. I'm going to try and get pics tonite. I'm not really sure what was keeping the entire thing from falling into the door jamb.

thats not the type of strikerbolt i was talking bout :

wasnt familiar enough with the car but with the pic there now i can immagine how the carnage looks
i would go for a piece of sheetmetal with some nuts welded to the back to act as a backingplate to the strikerbolt
if you can get at the doorjamb from the back you might be able to weld the plate in from the there after you lined the strikerbolt back up
