Reviving an old thread but I would hope you got it fixed by now. After reading what you wrote about your problem, yea all your connections can be tight and have a dead cell in the battery another thing is that I believe that this is an alternator problem, I woulda first took both the battery and alternator out and over to autozone for a test on them, then you would know which one is your problem child!!!!!

Did you figure out the problem yet? I'm having the problem with my 4.3 L in my S-10. I changed both the battery and alternator several times and still no luck. Any other suggestions?
