I am trying to get a grasp on this. Wouldn't there be a space between the adapter and the drum the thickness of the wheel? What is the reason for doing it? to gain extra fender clearance?

Giovanni-- No, there is no way you can use these adapters on your truck with no modification because your truck has DRUM BRAKES on the rear. We have made these adapters for trucks with DISK BRAKES on the rear.
Krewzlo-- You basically are saving the width of the 2 wheel faces. We are taking the 1.75" thickness of the 2 wheel faces put together and placing it on the other side of the adapter plate. There are other parts involved in the process but that is the basic principal.
There are some clearance issues on the leaf springs on some vehicles and some issues on the mounting pads of others. We haven't tested them on everything, just the vehicles I have at my disposal.

2001-up Chevy/GMC will work and that is what they were test fit on. However there are some exceptions to the rule. Measurements will need to be taken.
Pricing is looking to be around 1300-1500 for the set and some vehicles will only work with our wheels.
