question on bags

There's a shop near Houston that I won't name because I don't know for a 100% fact they did the work - but they did put a lien on the title of the truck, so that's all I can imagine is that they financed out this bag job. I should have taken pictures of it. It was some of the most hacked garbage I have ever seen in my life and I've seen a pretty good amount of garbage work done by "shops" - I couldn't believe anybody would charge money for this crap, it was worse than amateur.

What am I saying? Yeah, get a very good look at other vehicles done by the shop you're talking to, first.

krewzlo-what you want for your wheels and tires? Yeah, truck is in great shape, everything works great-knock on wood- the trans was just rebuilt with a shift kit put in, engine is strong(454) the truck just plain kicks ass.

Sorry, had to share these pics somewhere and this thread seemed to have died off a little, but here's some of that quality work I was talkin bout. I wished I had taken some of my own but after a little searching on the net I was surprised to find that the shop themselves had posted pictures of the work, so I downloaded all of 'em.

Some of what you don't see is where they notched the front frame so the control arms would clear they just left jagged ass metal up there, didn't reinforce anything, just cut. And the jagged metal cut right through one of the bags. The fender lips were torch (plasma?) cut and raggedy sumbitches. The handmade stainless panels above the front tires weren't installed yet in those pics but they looked like someone beat them into shape with a brick over a watermelon.

I might understand and give it half a pass if it was some amateur's first time attempt but jeezus man this is a shop that charged for this work and even put a lien on the guy's truck for it so I guess they financed the job to him or something. Unreal...

Moral to the story is, just because someone has a shop doesn't mean they or their guys can find their ass with both hands and a map that says "your ass is here."

little update- bags are on hold, got 2 other toys that are takin most of my income(dirtbike and fiance lol)(plan to have them by next years scrapin but we will see) so i ordered a western chassis 8.5 flip and some 3" drop spindles, gonna cut the coils and remove some of the leafs - started sanding and filling in some of the dings on the body-thank god there is no rust on this truck-kinda suprised, gonna repaint the truck around mid october is am thinking of doing it flat black and gloss red? might look real sinister but i prob will go with a gloss black. got a cdplayer going in it this weekend, and going ahead and getting the exhaust raised under the truck and turn downs before the axle in the next couple of weeks. pulled out the healiner puttin new fabric on it, other than that i pulled off the trailer mirrors, puttin c10 mirrors on it- gotta weld up the old mirror holes and i put a new master cylinder.i will get some pics when the drop parts come in
