when it is a cashiers check there is a number on the back of the check that you can call to verify that the check was issued. as far as having your bank call the drawing bank that doesnt really work because most banks will not share information and if they choose to share the information all they will be able to tell you is that the account is a good account and that the funds are in the account right then, but that doesnt mean that they will be when the check gets to that bank. For Chris and Ernie as far as the pens they dont really work that well, i think they only catch like 10 percent of all conterfeits, but there are security features built in to all the money so that you can spot a fake

I was selling stuff with a buddy at a swap meet, and he had a buddy that walked up to us and said that he got screwed in the same way, a stolen cashiers check,..... for 27000 bux on some muscle car he sold the day before... heard that his insurance paid him eventually for the loss! crappy

on a positive note..Dusty Hodge (Idragit) hasnt screwed anyone on mautofied!

About three years ago I tried to sell some 20/45 series goodyear tires and a lowing kit from my f-150. Dude was from new england. When I got the cashiers check in the mail he had given me $500 extra dollars. He had also sent me an emial that day giving me an excuss why there was extra money and telling me to keep it. I thought that was really odd... went to the post office... fake cashiers checks. Since he had sent me extra money I was skeptical and decided that I would not mail anything until I knew the checks were real. They were fake... never mailed anything and the checks were confiscated. I was trying to sell the stuff here on streetsource. One of my friends was hit up by the same dude about a year later... identical situation... he did that same thing to her. Don't remember the guys name though,

Ain't it funny how ppl can actually b that stupid. Send a check one day, and the next...a Cashiers check sent by Air Mail dated 10/15/07???? It's the 26th and it took that long to get here by air mail?? And they came one right after another??? Strange ppl I tell ya...
