So I finally got a 3/4 ton rearend to do my swap. I put my adapters on just to check out the fit and with the adapter on I only have enough thread to fit a lug nut on. I'm planning on running 16" inners on this. If I put the 16 on and then the adapter I have no threads at all left. Do I need to swap out studs to 1 ton studs or what? What's the right way to go about this? Thanks in advanced.
If your using a regular 3/4 ton rear the 16's will not fit over the brake drum. I think you have to run all 4 semi's .
Wilbcrew is correct on the 16s not fitting over the drum of the 3/4 ton axle. However if the 3/4 ton axle has disk brakes then it will work fine.
Also another thing you may want to check is some 3/4 ton rearends have a different hubbore than the 1 ton axles. Your adapter may not be seated properly on the axle and your studs are therefore not long enough.
If you do end up needing to swap the stud you may find the longer ones for the 1 ton axle but they will need to have the proper knurl seats on the backside of the axle.
Crap. Alright. Yea mine has drums on it. I fit up an adapter and it fit good, I just didn't have a 16 to try. So I guess I'm running all 6 22's. Thanks guys.
