Q's on setting front caps

Alright everyone, I have the adapters from chromewheel.com, and these have a solid ring that mates up to the inside of the hub hole of the aluminum wheel rather well...er... tight (good tolerances).

I just got the smooth caps from Trevor, and he advised me that I may need to notch the adapter. Who has done this?, does this mean that I completely cut 4 pieces out of the adapter or can I get away by "grooving" the adapter? Also should I take / snip away the excess trim area of the cap and just leave the parts with the attachment rivets?

Any help will do... thanks everyone

Oh, I'm talking about the front wheels/caps... the rear fit great!

Just grind enough material so the cap will snap onto the wheel flush. DONT cut a whole section out of the adapter.
As for cutting the excess lip off the caps, DONT do that either. This will result in the outside of the cap developing creases and making it flimsy and brittle.

Not to change the subject but wasn't there a post recently about the adapters from chromewheel? The pic of the Dodge with the crushed fender because an adapter broke?
