i am thinking about doing some work on my feul cell but leaving a majority of the tank the natural finish maybe even a little brush finish on the aluminum tank. i know when you clear steel it kinda yellows and stuff... what do the pores of the aluminum do to clear coating the tank? what should i be expecting?

i would do what you want on it then get it powdercoated clear. it will look like you just used paint but will withstand getting some spills on it

Bull dog is a clear adhesion promoter that helps the clear coat stick. you can get it in a aerosol can at any paint store.

be sure its lined with por15 and when you clear/powdercoat, make sure every surface is thoroughly coated because if you get the chalky oxidation under the clear, there is no way of getting to it without doing the job again
