How to figure a...

radius? Say you have like a 1/4 circle or 1/2 circle and you want to figure the radius of it. Like if you were trying to figure out the radius of a round step notch or bent tube.

I can't seem to remember. Hoping someone here can.

No I can do that in my sleep. But say you have something like this



and want to figure the radius.

The radius is 1/2 the diameter. So if that notch measures 10 inches accross then the radius is 5". Are you talking about the circumference? In that case Circumference=3.14xD. Example: The circumference of a 10" diameter circle would be 3.14x10=31.4"

But what if you don't have 1/2 the circle to measure the diameter? Maybe that notch wasn't the best example. Say you only have a section of it, more of a curve.

Say you wanted to find out what the radius I've highlighted red?
