ever had this happen.... what will fix it...

i have a 86 toyota excab pickup 22re. what would cause my idle to fluckurate from 1500 to 2100 rpms at an idle? do you of you know how to fix it. its bugging the piss out of me. need help asap. suggestions would help thanks.

its either your idle speed sensor or throttle position sensor most of the time when that happens either one of those went bad

spray carb cleaner around the throttle body & all over any vacuum lines. i'd check for vacuum leaks before i spend the money on an IAC valve.

were in the f is the idle speed sensor located. i know its a pretty dumb ? to ask but any help it would be great. some one is comin to look at it today to buy i hope

Had this happen on my brand new LC engine, it was a bad thermostat. There is a duel type one from the dealer that will work much better. I used it and problem solved. The engine won't come out of cold start mode,it will kill the cat also!!

coolant problem caused mine in both my 86 and my 94
