My buddy is about to buy it. Motor needs rebuilt.(started knocking a couple days ago, so the guy parked it) Wants 500.00. Has dual flowmasters, Edelbrock manifold.

...Its a 3/4ton. Next question, besides a dually bed, what is needed to convert to dually..? Planning to bag on semi wheels too. I was thinking a bed and cab/chassis rearend, but not sure about the front.

Its a 78, also has all dash pieces that are missing off dash and an extra drivers side front fender

Well since it has that dynomat I'd say yes.

I think you can use the 3/4 ton stuff and just install the wheels. You will need to space out the front some how. And I think you could just use the rear as it is.

3.5" wheel spacers in the front, and the Adapters for the semi wheels should be good enough for the rear

Thats a lot of bolt on for the front. I have used the 3.5"spacer on my 3/4 Single cab in the stages of messin around. I would not adivise to use on the front. Not Safe! The 3/4 ton rear end is a C&C Rear the only thing that is different are the brakes. The 3/4 ton stuff for the rear is fine unless you want to do some heavy hauling. Either way the difference is not that much. The adapters will bolt right up to 3/4 ton rear, the studs should be long enough unless P/O has mangled them up. If you want to suck the wheels in even more, you can mount the adapters on the outside of wheels. Alcoa makes a plastic center cap to cover this. My buddy did this on his 08 F350. It turned out nice. The center cap(s) run about 75.00 a side. For the front stay away from adapter to adapter to huge wheel, the combo does not play out in your favor.

It's got at least $50 of flat black rattle can on it, so you're ahead there...

It would even look sick if you kept it fleet side no dually fenders and ran a single alcoa in the rear. Theres a pic of a full size late model Ram short bed with it done like that. I think it was in 'street trucks' a couple of months ago. Just my opinion, its your truck. Its definatly worth it. Does the body have any cancer or mud?

The rockers have small rust and the drivers fenders...but has replacement fender for it.

So, if he runs the rear end under it now, w/ adapters.....wiil the semi wheels tuck under a dually bed w/o modding the fenders? And does he need to swap out brakes or anything on the front. Not planning to bodydrop the truck, just wants to bag and lay out on semi wheels.

Depends on the Semi's whether or not they are for a truck or bus/trailer. He may have to raise them, Im in the process now of mounting the dueceduece's on the truck will let ya know. The 3/4 ton rear is a good 6' narrower than the 1ton.
