I am entertaining the idea of converting to DRW on my F250. If I do I want 22.5 inch wheels but I am trying to keep everything blacked out. Can I get just plain jane steel wheels machined to fit so I can get them coated black. Also I would have to run adapters on the front end to one, convert to a dually front end and the convert to 10 lug. Does anyone make an adapter that does this in one instead of 2?

the answer to your questions in NO.
NO,NO. you can get someone to custom make you adptrs thought but CAN NOT mill down steel wheels. go aluminum and powdercoat them black.

No to milling steel wheels. On the adapters just make your truck a 1 ton and any 8x10 adapter will work, if you keep the 3/4 ton 8 lug suspension in the front the wheels will just sit inside the fenderwells further.

I am sure you all have seen this truck it is a newer body style chevrolet dually it is painted kind of a powder blue color with what look like white steel wheels in 22" (cant find a picture to post) are those not steel wheels? if not what are they. They only have either 2 or 4 holes I cant remember which. and they look like a 2 piece wheel with a barrell and center welded in.

He's on here. They are 22.5 with 22 inch tires stretched over them. Bad idea.

ahh! now I see. Thanks for setting me straight. I thought he had figured out a way to machine a steel wheel down. I agree not a good idea to strech a tire to a bigger wheel.

You can machine them down...
but I believe when your done you have a 3 piece wheel.

Ok so pardon my stupidity please everyone I thought that the wheels had to have the mounting face milled. I didn't realize that it was just the diameter if you are planning on running low pro or a/t m/t wheels. I plan on running Semi Tires. I want to go with a 22.5 if I can find it. As far as I know of on the Ford Superduty's the dually trucks have the same front end as the SRW trucks but have an adapter from the factory on this. Maybe Lockone can correct me on this. Thanks for the replies guys. I may hold out and trade for a dually.
