just started my body drop on my duel cab mazda b2600, wanting to know how everyone cuts the front to do the Z section in the front rails. i think i got it but pics would be good just to double check my self. thanks
I just cut around the inside and back of the rad suport body mount. moved it down and welded it back up. i had to cut the inner fender aprons and remove the rad support to get better access to the frame. i also pipe notched the the crossmember for the lower rad hose.
i looked and don't have any pics, but i cut the ears off, dropped them and gusseted them, and then notched the x-member for the lower rad. hose
ok well i was going to cut the rails in front of the steering box and drop the whole front member including body mounts and all then plate it on all 4 sides. i think it will work that way. thanks for your help people.
yeah. look in the new minitruckin. they show you exaclt how to do it that way your talking about. it's on a yota, but its the same almost.
if i just take the body mounts off and take the rubber pieces off under them ans screw it them back on would that work for a body drop and wat else would i have to do ?
you will get a truck that feels like ass to drive, best bet is to just cut and do a traditional bodydrop.

in 25 years of minitruckin I think you are the first one to think of that.
just kidding. What will happen is the body will drop about 1/2 inch, the distance the floorpan is away from hitting the top of the frame, and you will be stuck with a really poor ride.
russ thats not the first time ive heard that
