Another dumb idea...

brought to you by huskerdually. Any way I was thinking, I know that is where the problem begins. And if you remember several months back I came across a bus axle.

Anyway I was thinking about taking the ends off and grafting them to my dana 70. Then I would get the huge disk brakes and 10 bolt pattern. It would be pretty simple.

So how dumb of an idea is that?

are you retarded???? That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard.

HAHA

Sounds like it would work and would be great with rear discs.

it's a different 10 bolt pattern I think. And my personal opion (sp) would be to sell the rear for scrap and use the money towards a brake kit for the 70

I saw a car trailer on the freeway the other day with parts from a semi on it. It had a set of axles on there & I thought that would be cool to narrow a semi axle & run one of those instead of the wimpy 14 bolt or DANA 70s that come in Duallies. You know the old saying, " size matters".

brakes are overated.. just lay it out and it will stop on its own.

I could really care less about the brakes. Disk brakes aren't really needed unless you are using them a lot. I actually have read drum are better for holding power, but disk are better with brake fade. I just thought it would be neat and be nice not to run adapters. And I can come up with dana 70s all the time if I want.
