just a quick question. How hard is it to convert a ford 250 or chevy 2500 (2wd) to a dually and about how much would it run. I know you would need the front & rear axles and dually rear fenders. What else would be needed? Has anyone here did this to there truck or is it a pain in the butt.

Depends if you want it to be an actual dually or just run the wheels.

Would like for it to be as close to a dually as possible. Reason I'm asking is because I see 250's/2500's that look good and just wondered what the mean difference would be between them. I know that it would not pull exactly as much. You know how it is, you sit around and think of different thinks and try to save money (if possible).

i've seen spacers that you can use to run dually wheels on a single wheel truck .

the front diskbrake/hub prolly the bearings too , dunno if the spindles are the same you need to cross reference ordernumbers for that and the complete axle at the rear, dually drumbrakes are larger and de hubs on the rearaxle are different , and offcourse you need the bed or the fenders .

Ameri-T.A.W. has Dually conversion adaptors & pics of trucks that have been converted. There Chevy/GMC finders are not that good looking to me, they have a built in fender flair, but the Ford & Dodge ones look all right.

Conversion kits:

88-98 Chevy/GMC fenders
Right:
Left:

73-87 & 91 Chevy/GMC fenders
