I'd say the Toyota that was titled "Slam Dance". It was Black with Granite airbrush at the bottom and was one of the first bd'd trucks I had seen around '91 or '92. I've got to find the feature somewhere in the attic.

Back when i was 13-14 there was always minitrucks around my house. My sister and her friends knew all of them. I dont know if anyof them got in the mags but i couldnt show ya anyways since i dont have mags that go back that far. Clubs like Mini Illusions, Wild Side, etc.

I think the club around here that had the most cool trucks when I first started out was Illusive Minis from around Myrtle Beach to Columbia SC. Right around 1990 or so.

For me I think it has been a build up of things. I remember going to pigon forge one year w/ my grandparents for vacation and while at a stop light truck after truck rolled passed(from a show i guess) and I told my grandpa that one day I want a truck like that and he told me that stuff like that might not be popular by the time I started driving, that was prolly around 10 years ago.
And in my neighborhood there used to be a club called No Affiliation and we used to watch them drive around. And more recently a pld coworker drives a dropped Dakota and would always talk about it. So thats kinda long but oh well

I kinda have to agree with Keef a little. Growing up, I always wanted a jeep wrangler on 44s but then my mom bought a mazda and I for some reason dreamed of what I would do to it if she were to give it to me one day. I started checking out these mazda b2200 with convertible top and I guess i kinda fell in love with them.
