Tell me about it. The Taurus just went to my buddy's shop because the a/c stopped working.
Took them a while to figure out what went wrong. He said we I had plenty of refrigerant, no leaks, all three low pressure switches were working, but they couldn't figure out why the compressor wasn't getting power. Turns out, Ford has a control module for the a/c. Basically, instead of just running 1 low pressure switch, it has 3 and they all run to this module, then to the compressor. Module went bad.
$315 later...
What a crock.

'97. 130,000. Meticulously.
The P.O. was an older lady who's husband was a car guy, so they took care of it too.
Don't get me wrong, it's a good car, I've just never gotten away for under $300 when it goes to the shop.
I guess my bitch is really with all the comp controlled stuff nowadays.

Tell me about it. I told my wife her next car is going to be old. I'm so sick of it being such a pain to work on anything.
And low it's first on race day
