i could have sworn i saw a picture of someones stock crossmember that they just cut off the bottom of it until it was above the bottom of the frame and then plated it. i may be mistaken, but i was wondering if that could be done, or do i have to buy a new one?
and can anybody find that picture.
yeah it can be done man. just trim it like 1/2 higher than the frame and plate it with some 1/4 inch plate so it clears nice and easy
does anyone have pics of this?
not mine but you get the idea

thats the picture, thanks. does that leave enough room to run the stock exhaust under it? it looks in the pic like if the exhaust was moved up into that hump, it would clear.
also, do i have to mess with the mount that the tranny bolts too, or can it stay like it is? that picture looks like they made a mount, but i don't know what the stock one looks like anyway.
The exhaust cannot run under the stock crossmember, it will hit the ground before anything else does. I just got done building one for te guy that bought my old yota because the one that was in there was junk. You would probably be better off just cutting the stock one out and building/buying a new one.
