Head unit, amp and sub box got ripped off the night before last. I didn't have a lot of money tied up in it and I was going to upgrade in the future, but that's not the point. At least the thief was considerate enough to not tear up my dash. So, I guess it’s time to invest in an alarm before I start throwing money into some new tunes. Can someone point me in the right direction?

DEI is where I put my money!
the Viper 791xv or the new 7900 are the same as the clifford Matrix 70.5 I have installed around 120 DEI alarms when I worked at best buy we never had any issues do to product quality and all the add-ons that DEI makes is crazy makes it easy for the installer to come up with ideas for a nice install (make the car kinda have a mind of its own) we've hooked up stuff to where if your windows are down and it starts to rain the alarm will roll-up windows and close the sunroof you can even have the alarm setup to call you on your phone for any number of reasons low batt, shock, break, start, you name it.
I put my alarm in the center of the firewall( had to remove the dash) with a battery backup if you look under the dash you will never see any wires for an alarm and you will never be able to cut the power to and jus for the added touch without power to the alarm you cant start the truck ( power is cut to the ECU, starter, fuel pump and key) so I have a backup to the backup and to top it all off its GPS tracked thanks to DEI I can go online and see how fast the truck is goin what heading if the engine is overheating or over rev I can start it online lock the doors online and all this info can be sent to your local PD for them to track if you like but nothing beats pullin up right behind the ppl that stole you sh!t with a Mossberg 500 Tac and a .45 they kinda look like this
thats my .02

Been installing Code Alarm for about 15 yrs now and never really had any problems. I have the Code CA671 and it works great. Pager and remote start system.
