Okay so I have to go get my truck tomorrow morning. Apparently while it sat, the clutch master started puking fluid all over the place, under my dash. They got the truck running nice, but can't put it on the dyno because you can't shift without using the clutch. They wanted $350 to replace it because of where it is, but they gave me the option of doing it myself.

So I got a new master just now. I've bled a clutch system, before. But are there any tricks to bleeding a system with a new master? Do you have to "bench bleed" the clutch master? Or do you just bolt it on and go for it?

To my knowledge all master cylinders have to be bench bleed before installation. Not required I don't think, but advisable. You know, it just helps load the system prior to install.

Dammit. I hate bench bleeding. Lol. Its gonna be a PITA under the dash.

No sh*t! Good luck with that. Would it be easier to unbolt the whole pedal assembly from the firewall, or did you fab it as a weld-on?

Its entirely welded to the inner core that supports the dash. Was too flimsy as a bolt on deal. It won't be that bad really. I just don't like sitting there pumpinf for half an hour..

I changed both my master and slave cylinder in napa's parking lot in about 15min. You may have a bitch on your hands because of its location. I recommend taking 2 buddies along, one to fill, one to pump and one to purge.

I recommend taking 2 girls with you to do the same! One to feel, one to pump and purge...does that mean spit?

Seth,
Just as a warning, while you have it out or are in there you should really realign that plunger. From your pics its at a bad angle and will fail again over time. It needs to move into the cylinder bore in a straight line. Yours appears to be on a slight angle.
