ok...i finally got my truck ready to drive i thought...keep in mind, i took off and painted all of my front suspension....anyways i kept hearing and feeling this popping in my passenger side front suspension.....i checked and all of my lug nuts were loose...they were tight...its like my wheel is popping in and out....could this be something linked to the rotor not be on tight enough or good enough or what????

sounds like maybe the threads or lugs are stripped...

i checked that....and they all seem to be good....the only thing i could really think of is where the rotor goes on...theres a big ass nut that holds it on....when i put it on the first time, it got really tight, and the rotor wouldnt spin...so i loosened it a little so it would spin.....but other than that, i couldnt think of anything

Studs maybe too long and bottoming out on the lug?

Maybe wrong lug seat?

I don't understand what exactly you are saying, where the lugs tight when you checked? if so does that truck use a "floating" rotor? if it doesn't I would guess you didn't tighten up the bearing nut enough which is very easy to do.

Other than that maybe your balljoints arent tight?

did you reinstall coughter pins at the end of the spindle shaft? that castle nut tights enough to hold it on and in the grooves is a pin.

Did you check to see if the nut on your spindle is tightened down enough.

That "big ass nut" also adjusts the wheel bearings, it is probably what is loose. Do a little research and find out the proper way to tighten it. Most of the time you are supposed to tighten it to a specific ftlb and back it off a bit. I would bet that is your prob. Good luck man

ive got the cotter pins in, everything seems tight....the drivers side did just fine...and i mean all i was doing is putting the exact same parts back where they were.....

FabLab-----i tightened the lugs back up once i noticed that they had come loose, and it did the same thing.....

im gonna try to take the rotor back off, and make sure everything seems to be straight and tight
......I also took the sway bar out, so im not sure if that has anything to do with it or not....

sounds like they are stripped (the studs) the may not look the part but they can still be stripped i took one of my rides to a local tires, wheel and brake place they said if i had driven a few more miles i would have lost a lug nut or 3 n then the wheel...
