Could someone tell me what grit sandpaper to use to get rid of the line that seperates the paint and primer where they shaved the door handles? I'm getting ready to rattle can the whole truck and really need to know how to get rid of the line. Also what would be a good grit to scuff up the existing paint so my rattle can finish will stick? What brand of spray paint is the best to use? I'm going with a flat color. I have seen lots of satin finishes in the stores. How many cans does it usually take to spraybomb a single cab mazda? Any help will be great. Thanks!

Whenever I shave anything I always go over the area that was shaved and outside of it with a very light coat of skim coat filler like evercoat. But if its just temporary or your gonna get it repainted soon anyway id just go with a 400grit or a 3m scuff pad.

baby angels cry when you rattle can cars, i would suggest finding a person who will prime it for a decent price. I have seen shops do if for around $250 if you have the truck sanded and supply the primer. And if you start to say $250 is to much for this price out your 10-15 rattle cans + tape (green 3m tape not the cheap stuff).

yah, i was about to say either rent a compressor and spray gun from a buddy, or have a shop put some primer/sealer on it...

NOPE... You must back mast to get the tapeline to feather out.. by folding the masking paper back over on itself it will create a edge that will allow for less build up.

this is true ryan, but if you put it to close to what your primin, it will still make a hard edge. 180 grit will work fine for the edge, just hit it w/ 320 when your done.

I think he means the hard lines are still there, and he wants to get rid of them. I would use prob. 180

like James said, 180 to knock em down and 320/400 to really get em finished up.
