Might have come off a little DIRECT on my statement.
Chris makes a nice point about admiring our own work even if nobody is around to see it. Makes for good motivation. Didn't mean for it to sound like we do what we do JUST for each other's satisfaction and not ourselves that wouldn't make sense a tall. But it's a bit of each side I think. Sorry for the confusion.
And yes Kev you are a "lying sack of shatness," with a mullet. (kudos)
why ya gotta bring the mullet into this you know the mullet has powers I havent even seen yet plus it knows poeple that know people that kill people

When I was first starting to get into cars(around 14) I remember 3 spokes, shells with the back glass open, rear bumpers, splatter paint interior, roller skate wheels(I still have love for those)and stickers of your name and your girls name on the back window behind each seat. *edit. Almost forgot. Glitter flake. I loved seeing that back in the day.
As for what will be gone in the future, nothing. In the automotive world everything seems to come back at some point. The will to want to be different makes some look to the past and find things that help spark the ideas of the old and the new people of the scene. Look at what flat paints did.

when i first started taking notice of minis i was around 14 too (1989) here in nashville, shells where big, the swirl/sawblade wheels, huge systems, a few minis hade the puzzle thing( tailgate, gas door), splash paint. i helped my moms husband fix up a ranger in '90 stillen g/fx,on some 30 bones.... looked good for the time...but if we ever saw another mini,at a stop sign or red light or passing buy, everyone would wave or nod to you... thats what got me goin on minis.....everone was cool with each other,no hating hopefully that will come back in style
I Think simplicity is going to take over as it already has a bit as far as paint schemes. Graphics were big a few years back but now the two tone less is more is whats in. Mini truckers are starting to pay attention to functionality as far as suspension goes. Also Mini truckin used to be done when you were 15-25 then you moved on to hot rods. I think now as we get older we are still into it and building more of a quality truck inside and out. Lambo doors are a cheap look at me mod and will fade, the baller look came and went with mini trucks as did the import racer mini truck scene. Paying close attention to detail and making sure your truck doesnt fall apart doing 80mph is becoming popular. Engineering is coming into play.
I agree with Brian.
People are starting to step up there game as far as building goes.
they are now doing full frames and crazy suspension setups.
I think the big wheels will stay. There are now 24 in. billets. I think a 26 is just around the corner.
People are starting to go more high dollar hotrod with cleaner motors, int., and suspension setups.
Im still rockin 15's on my dime, got some ss camaro five stars , fiberglass shell, walk-thru cab, flat black paint, and of course bagged up front, air shocks out back!i need some up-dated pics, also check out the yota in my profile, had that b4 i got my license , wish i wouldnt have sold it.oh and
death 2 lambo doors!
who to say what is, had and will ever be lame....it personal opinion.
i think these mini's with no A/C, big wheels and $20K sunk into them are lame.... lets see every body these day are suspension gurus and have tons of dough stashed into thier trucks and have to put them on to trailers to carry to shows, that just showes that trailer quenns arent reliable. point blank.
i need to have a trailer show. that would bring in alot of money.....
