does anybody make a short shifter kit for 1992 5 speed pickups? 2wd. i like how b&m makes their kits, but i didnt find one listed. anybody else make one, or am i gonna have to use my buddy's lathe to make a shorter arm?

also, what is the thread size, i have a brass skull i cast that i wanna tap for it.

LC should have one. As short shifter, isn't a short shifter shaft,it's the throw at the gear box end!!

yep. but a shorter arm also does the same thing. and i wouldnt mind having it lower to the floor a bit. but ill look into the trd and lc stuff. thanks guys. if i end up making a custom one, ill post specs and what not of what i did. i might even make a riser base for the tranny and shit. we'll see. later.

naw man its not just the whole arm is shorter... its like gary said.. but newayz... i cut my shifter in half basically and rewelded smoothed it out... it was way high with the bodydrop so i did that and it looks sweet now.... good luck

haha

yeah the pivot point-to-cup length needs to be longer, therefore it requires a spacer between the pivot plate and tranny...

thats why the honda/acura short thtow shifters aren't any "shorter"

definitly doesnt do the same thing

although shortening the shaft WILL slightly shoten the throw, but not by much

i shortened mine in my mazda and it was nice, wans't tryin to race the mazda or anything(hahaha obviously), it was just a nicer shift

yeah, i looked at the kit lc has, and i have machining experiance. so once i put my new bucket seats i got into it, and make a simple console im gonna do something. i dont mind making a spacer, a few gaskets and a new arm. cheaper than the kits.

speaking of, how much does the trd kit run for...i couldnt find it online. lce is $200.

I have the LC one in my 88, had to modify it a little, as not for my trans. It is a lot shorter throw than was stock!
