2.3 and 2.6 engine blocks

Does anyone know if the block from a 2.3 will swap out with a 2.6? I have heard it would in the past, but just wanted to verify it will.

I thought I was the only one that didn't know this! Does anyone have an idea if they are the same or different?

2.3 and 2.6 blocks are the same its the heads that are different

are the lower timing gears the same ?
