I been wondering the same thing? whats it take to get a show pic or feature? Maybe if you build a worthy ride and actually participate and travel to large shows you might get that show shot or feature. Then again is that all its about? Ya show shots and features are kool but the people and friends I have met along the way are the best. Knowing I could call up any number of people if I had any kind of problem and they would drop what they were doing to help me out. THATS PRICELESS!! Mike, Ernie you guys are doing a kick ass job. Chad Lucas as well did an awesome job. Johnny O, Mike Finnegan and any others I forgot to brown nose here. I truely think no one really knows the blood , sweat and tears you guys put into your mags. The point being this is what pays their bills. If it doesnt sell they are out of a job so I'm putting my money that they put out the very best product they can each month. Not only to put a roof over their heads and pay their bills, but for a matter of pride as being as they are all participants as well as photographers and editors of the mags we all read every month!

High Five.

Man I really want to say how I feel about this topic but I'd hurt feelings if I did so. I'll just bite my tongue and yell at myself.

Getting featured is no different than any acomplishment in life.how good you play reflects your position in this world. If you work hard people have more respect for you and futher your acomplishments.last year I was cashing a check on an account that wasn't in my name. The teller thought I was fuckin crazy and told me she wouldn't cash it.Right about that time the owner of the bank walked by and started a conversation about the car I was working on for him. Before we finished talking my check was cashed and to this day I get respect at that bank. That shit is earned much like anything else.

to the orginal poster:
i read your first and second post in this thread so dont take this the wrong way.
i understand your desire for new trucks in show coverage and features but as sad as it is. it dosnt always happen, some people like to keep their rides under wraps. me i dont hit enough shows let alone enough BIG shows. my job allows me to hit 3 shows or so a year. so i pick danger zone a local show near me hosted by dangerous toys a club who had had many features over the years and various show coverage of their rides at other shows. so thats the show i debut my rides at every year wether they look like shit or not im happy to just be out and about with my ride in the grass at a show. not everybody can hit shows like it would require to be making any of the photographers like you or any other readers would like to see.

mini truckin isnt just about the mag, pictures, videos, features, show coverage, online coverage or anything usually resembling a pat on the back (this includes trophies) its about your friends and friendships made. if your desire is to be in a mag. yes your nissan is clean, but from the 3 pictures ive seen nothing makes it jump out from the crowd. to be honest in my mind compared to some of the other nissans out there its plain. its bagged, on some rims and has shaved tail lights with a front end swap. pretty common for any mini truck.

by the way im not saying my trucks are the shit in any manner nor are any of them feature or underconstruction or show coverage worthy. i have 4 which get worked on litle by litle. which all are some of the most common rides shot for mt today a 93 s10, a 98 s10/hombre, a 87 mazda b2000 and a 94 mitsubishi mighty max.

honestly i hope your not into this for a pat on the back cause if you are your in the wrong place. maybe if you were the first hardbody on 22s youd be ok. but you gotta realize the guys who do make the show coverage and features both mags and videos are usually the ones who bust their asses to attend shows and make their ride stay presentable. we all know how easy it is to rip off a rollpan the guys who are in show coverage again again & again are the ones who have self control.

im not trying to be a dick but alot of people feel as though its about the chicks, the features, the partying, its none of that in my mind.

its building what makes you happy, not building for other peoples happiness.

if i lost you in my rambling holla at me ill try and explain my thoughts better...

MIKE & ERNIE @ mini truckin:

you guys have made the magazine better over the last 2 years since i picked up a copy on a regular basis. prior to my first reading of MT i was i hate to admit it a ricer i had a honda with a coffee can exhaust and a park bench on my truck.
i still got pictures of it. anyways id still have a subscription if i wasnt so damn broke literally im broke after taking out a large loan to pay my tickets (cali cops & chp) along with putting money towards my rides and also other bills. however with whatever chunk change i will be still buying the mag. you guys are the shit plain and simple

i also thank you for using the picture of my tattoo in MT i hope to see you both at danger zone. by the way my arm was in the march 2007 issue in the lifestyle section its the fat guy's arm with 3 trucks... yep thats me...

This could also be some peoples strange need to have something to bitch about. Mini truckin and other mags put out magazines showing the top quality trucks in the scene, but that isn't good enough. Now, its the magazines fault that there isn't enough different trucks to fill pages. Don't blame the magazines, we are the ones to blame that there are not more different trucks featured and in show coverage. There are some badass trucks around that the owner for whatever reason only goes to a handful of shows and only local shows. No shows big enough to draw show coverage. The other reason we are to blame is the fact that not enough people who go to bigger shows try to build something that stands out in a crowd. Not trying to bash anyone because everyone should build their car or truck for themselves, but there are trucks out there that just don't stand out in a crowd or are not close enough to completed to deserve a feature.
If you want to see more stuff in magazines, it is us, the reader, that needs to step up to the plate. We need to take the challenge to build the baddest rides that we can build and get on the road and hit the major shows.
