I would go with the big block if you cant get the diesel. You might as well have more power if you are getting almost the same gas mileage.

anthing thing i should be watching out for when i go test drive a 454 or 350? engine wise i mean? and is thereany spots on the body i should be watching for for rust?ie rear cab corners?

plan on changing door hinge pins..And go with the diesel. Well if you can afford the duramax, if not be leary of the 6.5..or go with gas
