88-98 wheel backspacing

Asking for a friend what backspacing does he need to tuck on a 20x8.5 on a 88-98 F/S?

james chris asked this for me but do you know what the back space is in inches

on an 8.5" rim, 5.25" is about the minimum you want to run with a 255 width tire in the front
