you cant beat snap on handtools. im sorry craftsmen etc just isnt up to the same standard. to some of you just say a tool is a tool, we snap on sockets ALWAYS fit and hardly ever stretch or crack from being used alot. ive broken a plenty of crafstman sockets/ratchets/extensions. the screw drivers are even worse. i hardly ever round otu a phillips head screw unless im using a cheep screw driver or a craftsmen.you get what upay for. also some of the brands sold at loweds nad homedepot are manufactored by snapon or mac. any air tool get ingersoll rand, they make em for everybody. if your looking for a good starter set, a big sit from any were isnt a bad idea cuz its better then nothing.

well duh mo. Gotta save the little money I got.

Another reason i prefer Craftsman is that if something does break, Sears is open every day of the week. I don't have to wait for the tool guy to come around and then trade it in. Don't get me wrong I like Snap on and Matco tools also but I have just always had good luck with Craftsman. And I have a bad habbit of using the socket wrenchs as hammers so if it does break I need a place to trade it in quick.

craftsman.

I used to have a nice snap on box full of snap on stuff, and the only difference I have noticed between craftsman and snap on is that when I go to my toolbox 99 times out of 100 all my tools will still be there. When I had snap on, they always grew legs and walked off. I've broken craftsman sockets, and I have broken (admittedly fewer) snap on sockets, I can drive to sears the same day and get a new one, with snap on I had to wait for the truck to come around, or even worse when I wasnt working at a shop track down one making its rounds.

FYI: Sears has a big 2 day sale right now and you can get a 263 piece 1/4 3/8 1/2 ratchet set with combination wrenches and other stuff all in a little 4 drawer plastic toolbox for $199 with free shipping. This, a screwdriver set, and a cordless drill with a socket adapter is just about everything you need to take apart most anything. Add a sawzall and you can completely part out and cut up a 91 RX7 like I did. The set is on the Sears site, just click the tools link then click tool sets and its staring you in the face. I have a nice Matco box full of Craftsman and I just bought one of these sets because it is easy to carry anywhere.

Compare that to what you get from snap on for 199. Well, you can get a shiny 3/8 ratchet and two sockets!

I use mostly Craftsman, mastercraft and husky because there all cheap, life time warrenty, and easy to get. Snap on and Mac are nice, but there too damn expencive, and they only come once a week....

now this is just my 2 cents, but craftsman is the way to go, I have a snap on box completely full of snap on tools and they are nice and all but they aren
