I use craftsman b/c Sears is open 7 days a week, and I can't afford snap-ons. Just stay away from their electric hand tools(drills, grinders, ect.)

to do what? There are a billion out there. If yer starting, start out with some craftsman stuff. Ebay is a great place to find deals on craftsman tools.

farm stores often have decent tools as well, but cheaper in many cases.

the main difference is that with warranties you have to keep your reciepts a lot of the time. i just keep all the reciepts for everything i buy, whether it be sears, farm & fleet, or matco, in the top drawer in my box.

if you are lookin too buy tools for yourself go use some of your friends stuff and see what you like best. snapon, mac, matco, craftsman all have life time. so it is a matter of what you like. i have all brands of tools. my 2 cent

CRAFTSMAN! Life Time Warranty. Thats all I care about. I'm not gonna buy a tool for the name or the convience (snap on, matco, ect.) and pay four times as much.

Just my 2 cents

I have a full craftsman set at home but at work I have some from snap on mac and matco. the snap on ratchets are about the best but as for sockets they are about the same. it just depends how much money you want to spend on them. The one nice thing about the trucks is they show up every week and you can make payments if you need to.
