rear brake line...or lines???

has anyone with a 96 tacoma ever got rid of the two brake lines going to the back and just ran one to the back? eliminating the little valve thing. and then just teeing into the axle from that one brake line? can it be done ? need answers soon please im putting my truck back together for BRING THE NOIZE O7. Thanks in advance

Get an adjustable proportioning valve and put it in the line and ditch the Load Sensing Proportioning Valve.

anyone???? i heard that if i do that my rear end will lock up when i hit the brakes

Dude its the same thing. You think I've never worked on a Taco because I don't own one? I did this to a friends Taco about 2 weeks ago after he bought it. It had the line T'd when he got it, and we put in an adjustable proportioning valve.

And just T'ing the valve will not make your tires lock up. It can, but generally it will just increase your rear brake wear because they need less pressure than the front.

Summit carries them. They have Wilwood and Summit brand adjustable valves. They're like $50 or so. Speedway motors also carries one, that is really the same thing, for $30. I bought that one for myself, and he is running the same one. It works just fine. Only drawback is its purple.

ok do i still need two brake lines running to the back? i cant just plug one of the holes off at the booster and just have one brake line running to the rear?
