TORCH HUH PRETTY QUIK WAY TO HEAT CAST???
DONT U THINK. CAST HEATING PROCESS IS JUST AS IMPORTANT AS THE COOLING PROCESS....

IMO...you should really be using an oven for even preheating. A torch, while quick, is not the best method. Especially on something as stress loaded as a spindle...I'd think you'd be taking every precaution possible..

its not safe, welding on cast with steel plates just wont hold, yes it will hold for a while but it will break, a shop here done the exact same thing and 2 months l8tr they broke and about killed the guy driving on the interstate, so in my opion as a welder and someone that has done many hondas its an wreck waiting to happen

LOL like i said nevermind. Everyone is acting like they know exactly how they are done and Danny thats not all we did. If you actually saw them you wouldnt talk like that. I guess this is just the wrong stuff to talk about on this know it all website.

Don't know what a good price is but I can get them done local for around $100 and I bought all steel dropped spindles for a little more then your charging.

Harry-
Don't you know everyone here is a expert! haha

even heating is better, but tourch with the bracing is probally fine if you take your time. The slower you bring up the temp and drop it the better you are. I've known some 4x4 people and some hot rodders take a week to cool off a part.
325 is fine for that, if someone is only charging 100 bucks i'd bet money they arn't doing that and cheesing out somewhere.
