I dont have any air in my mine but i only drive it on the weekands so im not worried bout it and i live down here in houston where its like summer all year long
just wondering why not leave the factory air & make it work Shannon (lowkey) still has factory ac & is setup for 22" in the front......... do a search on here theres a forum where he explains how he did it......
b/c he wants to make it all as clean as possible and ditching factory air is doing JUST that.
keep the a/c, i had a van with no a/c or heat, and it was ok, until i started building my taco...b/d and kept the a/c, rollin in comfort kicks ass, especially when you drive for hours to go to show...keep the a/c bro!?!
i never had air in my truck, but i am gonna miss my heat and defrost.
ok, it seems from the responses that i failed to include my reasoning for the air/no air debate. i'm putting 20's on the dime, and since i have to take out the dash, i'm considering the hot rod air setup. taking out seats a couple times is no big deal, but the dash is a pain in the ass. So if i'm gonna have it out, i want to do everything possible that i ever plan to do when it's out while it's out (paint it, etc.). And yes, i'm trying to clean up my engine bay. I don't have any welding skills (except grinding down welds, i could be on an olympic team for that) so building my own blower box is out of the question. Plus, if i go the hot rod air route, i get rid of the coffin sized evaporator (or whatever the hell that big ass box is under the hood). This will make it much easier for the sfbd and carb'd 350 to come in a couple years. Also, i'm very, very, very, very hot natured (i wear shorts all year round), and i really don't want to be rolling to a show 6 hours away in 100 degree heat sweating my ass off. And everything i do in life i pretty much do to keep the wife from bitching, and i see her being real happy on the way to said show. So thanks for all the responses, i appreciate all the feedback pro and con.
P.S. Piss off, fatass!! lol
i would keep the stock ac no matter what you have to hack up to keep it and spend that 800 dollars some where else you will love to drive 80 on the free way an inch off thew ground with the ac on
