SMC WATERTRAP,ALWAYS CRACKING!

I am on my 2nd one on the same side in 6 months and 2 months total driving time,both cracked.What gives and what alternative do I have?

you might be over tightening it. when i put mine on i was scared to tighten cause it felt very flimsy. i just put another on on for my EDC on the burb and was very careful with it also. sounds liek to me you're over tightening.

only problem i've had with mine is sometimes when draining the button doesnt seat back properly and air leaks out.

well, i had one crap out on me while i was driving. I was told it was cause i exceeded the 150psi max rating on it. I only ran a 175 Pressure Switch...

ya I am on 175 as well,luckily a friend has one for me he can front,but dang it sucks.I only put a bout 2k miles total combined on both.

I had the same problem after allot of research into the problem it has to do allot with the oil used it will attack the polycarbonate bowl. as well as the Very high pressure above 150PSI recomended. and the high heat 250F+ also does not help these units. I would recomend a all metal bowl unit from SD.

I ran the 1/2 SMC all metal one from SD and I ran 200psi daily and never had a problem. I ran it for around a year.
