90% of the people who stretch the tires are not going to have a problem out of the 10% left 9% are only going to screw up their own vehicle, the last 1% might cause an accident. I would never do it I would never condon it and I wish all that do total their vehicle out with a tire failure and their insurance company don't pay for it because of them mounting the wrong tire. I can't belive any tire company would take the liability of mounting the wrong size tire.

i little thought here : when you use the centers of these steel truckwheels and weld them intoo new 22 inch steel outer rims they should work ok wouldnt they

the same thing should work on aloy alcoa centers on 22 aloy rims you could even dail in the offset to prevent having to widen the fenders

I have never heard of anyone cutting the centers out and rewelding them back on.

In theory you could do this on steel or aluminum if you have all of the right tools and jigs.

After you do all of this cutting and welding you are still left with a 22.5 wheel and will have to have it milled to a 22.

I know from personal experience you CANNOT mill a steel 22.5 to a 22.
