UTI=Urinary tract infection. I had one of those once. Hurts like a mofo, I don't drink much soda anymore because of it. LOL Sorry I had to say that.

I went to UTI in houston for body and paint, then i took the mercedes training after that...The school could have been better, but you pretty much get what you put into it. I really didn't learn anything from the mercedes program, but it did help me get a job at a mercedes dealership that i work at now. Oh and do not believe all the figures they throw at you about how much money you will be making. I hardly made anything the first year but i make about $4000 a month after taxes now.

Ive never went to the school but from what ive heard and seen is if you want be a mechanic doing repairs and what not especiallyd ealerships a trade school like this is most definately going to benefit you.For custom fab i dont think they care much for trade they would rather see years of experience i know at my current job they look at experience rather than schooling and we build concept vehicles for chrysler, toyota, foose etc..

its 20-30 grand depending if you want diesel.i didnt think it was all that it was hyped up to be. if you go i highly, highly recommend a manufacturer specific program after the core program.UTI is not a really good choice if your planning on custom work, they really push working at dealership style places. they will get you a job without a problem when your done though.

How long ago did u go there that it was 20-30G? My buddy signed up 6 months ago and it was 36K for AUTO only...

i graduated a little over a year ago from phoenix campus. it was 28,000 and i took auto/diesel/industrial....not ford fact which would have been an extra 3-4 g's, but i took 9 weeks off towards the end and my last 2 classes were at the "new" prices and they were like $300 extra each. (so that makes it about 9 grand more now, i would imagine)

Well I did some research and found that most bodyshop(even dealerships) offer apprenticeships. So I've been to a couple and have been offered jobs. The only reason I havn't taken one yet is that i've only been offered 9/hr and no benefits and I have a family. In Texas I was doing an apprenticeship for 11.50 an hour still no benefits.. but is this a good start for SoCal. Also how long would it take me to make some real money (40+ a year) ?? Thanks again.

I applied at a fab shop in AZ, and at first the owner thought I went to UTI and told me there were no positions available. After I told him I had not been to UTI, he was willing to hire me. I'd say dont go!

in my opinion is a school that wants over charges the ppl i figured out if i went full time to the technical school were im goin i would be payin like 1200 a semester and i pay for it at the semester not all at once but u get 9 months or so schoolin quick while im goin like 4 years because im goin nights because of work but its easy i already know how to make a deisel badazz and i can build a badass 350 but for paint and body i rather go and be an apprenticeships because they might teach u the tricks and tips that u wont learn in school
