"This guy is bashin minitruckers and the lifestyle we all live" as the title of the thread is retarded ..... no i dont live the mini-trucker lifestyle
The ones who are so up on this lifestyle junk is the morons that are in it to just fit in somewhere cause they got beat up in highschool and so forth and wanna try and belong so badly
Like dude said above ... I am who I am and dont do anything different to try to belong to shit ....to old for that ignorance
But Imperials original thread on s10forum actually did have its points and agree with quite a few of em ...and then disagree with some
The mini-trucker lifestyle junk is about like the Emo kids ..... for the most part just a bunch of jackasses starving for attention
Way i feel about it basically is everyone has thier opinions deal with it and go along ....who gives a shit really
All i know is 80% of the kids i see at shows now are morons acting retarded and doing stupid shit that doesnt do anything but make everyone look bad

What exactly is "the lifestyle" .. i dress the same now as i do before i bagged/bodydropped the truck.
I drink now just like i did before the truck had a ton of work done.
I talk just like i did before it had work done.
I think i actually got in more trouble before than i do now that i'm part of the scene, but thats prolly just cuz im older and know not to do as much dumb shit, or at least learned how to not get caught haha.
I still loved these trucks before mine was done...
The only differences is i've met new people made some new friends and know more about how our trucks work and got 1st hand to see the amount of fabbing nad work that really does go into the trucks.
But I have kinda become more of an asshole since now getting gas is more like a one car car show at the gas station, and idiots who think my truck has hydrolics, it's gotten annoying to where i am just a dick about it now cuz im sick of having to explain shit when i just wanna get gas, or food.
I'd say the only new addition to my "lifestyle" as i hit switches and rail a truck now when i drive.

just looked at it and yea i read it before. for the most part, i can see him trying to express his opinion, thats what everyone does. what i dont like is how he is singleing out a specific topics and example. fo rthe most part if you read what he says and see his ride, you can tell it stems from being jealous. there's lots of people out there draggin body on their custom body and paint jobs, so not everyone draggin owns a POS.
not to mention the way people just rip on each other and shit for no reason. but it is funny to see all the people agreeing and adding stuff are people who dont have an even remotely custom truck.
to me it makes as much sense as saying, everyone that drinks is an alchoholic. he jumps groups every topic into one corner. its lame, but thats what great about free speech.
Marty made good points in his "speech". I don't agree with everything he said, but I can't blame him on one part....buying versus building. He bought his Blazer off of me, already painted and bodywork done, no interior work. since then, he's done a TON of work on the inside, mostly stereo. And has plans when he moves back to Cali from Texas to set it on the ground on 20's, so it's slow work and everyone has to start somewhere. So I think jealousy is not an issue....shoot you should've seen his old S-10..VERY nice. And the boy has the money to do just about whatever he wants to a vehicle, just chooses to spend money elsewhere. My honest opinion is that he isn't bashing minitruckin as a whole, just certain aspects which get cliche'd and run into the ground. I guess I'm not a hardcore minitrucker because I didn't get offended by his statements....either that or I'm not a guy building hacks in the garage.

i don't know whether to say it is a minitrucker lifestyle or if that is the name that people made up for it for our group of people that build trucks but like the post above i still dress the same as i did before my truck i still talk to same i just have alot more friends that i would of never had if i never expanded into the the truck scene i love building trucks and i think in the long run it has kept me out of more trouble than it has gotten me into. the guys that get trashed atshows and do stupid stuff let them be but when you see them doing stupid shit someone needs to step in and set an example. if no one does it will keep getting worse and worse. i mean i like to throw a few back at shows and have a good time but if you can't be responsible at the same time then don't go

Thanks and McKinney is a really nice town, but I'll be headed back to Sacramento, CA in a month - wife can't cope with being away from family.
Ah well, that's life.

Yeah I choose not to partake in any of the "after hours" events at the shows. When I get done with dinner, it's back to the hotel to get some sleep for the next day. Does this make me any less of a minitrucker?? Nah, just a little more of a prude, but not less minitrucker. I understand most "minitruckers" go for that stuff, but it's that crap that keeps getting shows taken away from us. That's what made Showfest big, but it's also what ended it, so we need to know when to say enough is enough when it comes to the drinking and stupidity. Last time I checked driving while intoxicated was a pretty big offense, along with public intoxication. And the towns are semi-relaxed about it, but when they step up and enforce the law, then they become the bad guy for "pullin me over for no reason". Whatever bro, take your ticket like a man, and learn a lesson from it.

I think anybody that changes their entire lifestyle to fit into a crowd that happens to share their interest in vehicles is pretty sad.
A guy I used to work with had a Civic hatch all riced out, so he watched anime and listened to techno... Well, he came into our shop a couple of months ago dressed up like a greaser with a pompadour and everything- now he's driving an old Galaxie on whitewalls!!
Find your own style- even if it isn't a style at all! Don't let other people dictate to you how you should live your life or build your ride- the whole point of customizing is to be unique!!!
Marty, congrats on pissing so many people off with your opinons, and not backing down when confronted. Your rant sounds more like an older person's take on minitrucking- how old are you, anyway?

I know my opinion isn't the popular one of the crowd, and I don't exactly go around shoving it down people's throats - if they agree they agree, if they don't then that's okay. Obviously I disagree with a lot of opinions on the matter, but I'm not about to pick a fight over it. Opinions aren't exactly a limited commodity =)
