thanks guys. anyone have pics of know where i could find pics of the setup in the front? im not 100% sure how the cylinder mounts to the vehicle.

this is all just homework right now, but id like to juice the next vehicle im getting.

also as far as charging goes, doesnt a streetcharger work pretty well? im not gonna do a crazy ass 8 battery setup or anything.

You can either use a regular cylinderor or a reverse-flow. I'm going to be using the regular cylinders on mine.

First, you'll need to cut open your OEM strut, find a pipe that fits inside the strut, and also allows the cylinder to fit in the pipe. You might have to machine out the pipe some for the cylinder to be snug.

For the upper mount, I'll be using 1/4" plate with a powerball welded to it. Drill some holes to match up where your factory strut bolts in the car, and your gravy.

As far as charging batteries, if you get good batteries, you might have to charge them once a week, depending on usage.

Here's a pic of mine in the front with the mounts in the car.

I have done enough macstrut conversions for dros and I know if you use 1/4 plate for a mount it will eventually bend. Use at least 3/8. Also you should be able to just place the cylinder thread through a fixed hole instead of using a powerball otherwise you may have camber problems. Just my info from my experiences. Good luck

basically will i be able to get a Mac Strut front end lower with juice as opposed to air struts?

think about it like this....a hydro cylinder is about the same diameter as your strut. your strut fits next to your wheel. a bag is closer to the size of your spring. it sits above your wheel. all of the area that your wheel will need,to go low,is going to be taken up by your bag.

this means no low on air.

my car is on air, and it lays the engine crossmember...as for whether a car will lay out on strut bags or not, it just depends on what car it is. mine is on easy streets with raised mounts.

Aim sucks balls those struts are peices of fucking shit ina can.Heres my friend Richies alero it sits on 20's with air lift struts.

and here is Scotts grand am it is also in airlift. lays out very nice
