Okay, so heres the situation:

My Buddy bought a 1500 that was dropped on some old Boyd 15's. He went out and bought some twentys for it, so I scored the old Boyds. I took em home and cleaned them up, put new tires on them and stuck em on my wifes van. They look sweet (but I'm kinda old school anyway).

Anyway, I noticed the left front tire kep going low. So I checked it out an there was no nails, etc. in it, so I tightened the schrader valve and filled it up. 35 p.s.i.

Next couple of days it's low again, so I took it back to America's Tire and told them that I think I got a defective tire. Turns out I have a crack in the rim. I would have never belived them, but they showed it to me.

Bottom line is, can I get it fixed? Anybody ever experienced anything like this. I don't want to put the stockers back on. Better yet, anybody got a set of these that they want to unload? I'll give you some scratch. I don't know what the name of the rim is, but heres a pic.

It's behind the front of the wheel, on a flat spot. I suppose you could weld it. I just didn't know if it was that simple. If thats the case, I have a buddy that welds aluminum hot rod/Harley stuff all day long that could throw down a bead for me, I guess.

Okay, well I guess I should have called him first.

He says it's super easy to fix and he does it all the time.

SWEET!!!

Yeah, I'm working on that. Unfortunately my wife and I have differing opinions on what is "cool".

I keep telling her, "all I want to do is set the wheel well openings down on top of the tire", but she's a no-go.

For now...

yes yes, less wind resistance, and tell her it will corner better and be less likely to (god forbid) roll over.
Then tell her it will get her all kind of guys lol
