with .035 flux on my 110v 130amp welder, i can get penetration from hell on 1/4".. I was welding up my 4 link bars and got as much penetration as jason at SD did on the other end of the bars.

i've used mune to do 3/16 but it was working really hard and you have to make sure the metal is super clean. sheetmetal work i usually run it at the next highest setting for good penetration(ie welding 18-20 ga on a 16 setting.

I have a 140 and I've done my truck AND my wife's. I've welded 3/16" and 1/4" and it's done sheetmetal work as well. Well worth the money. I will go with a bigger machine next time though.

get the 180 its a better more versitale machine and can handle heavier stuff with out having to use flux core. plus it guarntees that your brackets and axle tabs are on with a good amount of penetration.

Not using flux core wire. It comes with a regulator etc for 75/25.
