Gas Mileage when not towing

That is about what i thought. Surprised by the 454 doing so well. I definitely want a 5spd. Looking to turn over all over the vehicles soon, wife wants a diesel 5spd expedition...UNFORTUNATELY that beast doesn't exist. If it did, it would be my last vehicle purchase. I am getting 14 with the 302 93, and 17 in the v6 97 f150's. Both are cramped for space and lack towing power. Can't wait to upgrade!

i had a 2000 3/4 ton crewcab 4x4 it had 454 with auto tranny and i got 12 mpg empty and 10 mpg towing, now i got a 96 1/2 ext cab with 5.7 vortec and im gettin 17mpg empty and around 13-14 towing
