help me with my WELDER

My mig welder will only feed the wire 3/4 of the way thru the hose .. I took the gun apart because i thought the wire was getting stuck on the flex shaft where the bend was ..no dice ,, still wont feed all the way .. I'm going to play with it some more tonight but i was hoping someone had any ideas ..

Is the tension wheel slipping when it stops? I've had grease get on my wire before and it wouldn't grip. Ive also had my wire catch in the sleeve.

yes the wheel is slipping , i cleaned it but didnt seem to help.. I guess i'll just have to play with it

Make sure that the groove on the wheel is the right one for the size wire you got in there. If the wire is smaller than the groove then it will slip no matter how tight you put tension on it.
