RCI fuel cell cracked

Has any one ever had this issue with an Rci alluminum fuel cell. its cracked right at the bottom right on the weld.If so can you let me know Just wonder how this could of happend or any thing thanx alot.Also Rci i called them told him what happen i was just wondering maybe they have it under warrenty becasue it was a faulty weld or somthing they said no they dont care its over a year old and if it was just a day over a year old that they could care less it lasted for a year and thats good enough for them. soo Just a little pissed that there own employee said that.

i dont really know about the warrenty deal...thats pretty sad if they said that though...it makes me a little leary because i just ordered one today...hope everything works out...

you got a good run outta that cell, my buddys isuzu had the same exact problem, they told us there needed to be total support of the bottom of the tank. so we made a deisel brace, it happened again... then the tabs that bolt it down were cracking, plastic is the way to go unless you get someone to custom make you a good one

i saw one crack this weekend at the magnetic mini bash.

yea the 4x4 guys know this all too well they crack alot of them. when i got mine in all of the mounting tabs were broken so i ripped them off and made some new ones out of 1/8" thick aluminum angle and welded new mounts. I then isolated it from the mounting rack with a 1/2"thick 3/4" diameter grommit top and bottom of the mounting tab.



this is a good pic, i also used 7/16" grade 5 hardware.

haha yeah that was mine that cracked at mini bash in the hi low contest. Pretty crappy drive back to massachusetts

doing it this way takes all the stress off of the welds on the side because they nolonger have to deal with the mounting bracket

i didnt know if you got to see it at mmb, i did see you loose about $30 worth in gas. you could also make it extra diesel and weld up some heavy new mounts like mine. i think i got the metal at home depot for like $5

yeah man i was pretty pissed off but i do remeber take a quick look at yours and saying hmm i wonder why he did that haha. Now i understand i probably will weld some new mounts on it when i get it. thanx alot joe i appricaite it alot
