on your Syncrowave 200 you should use some 2% ceriated and turn your AC balance control up. You'll like how it keeps a point on aluminum and you can use it for steel too.
That's all I use with my Dynasty. I tried some lanthanated I didn't like it.

oh yeah as you learned you can't have any co2 in the sheilding gas for TIG. Lots of yellow smoke.

100% argon, 100% helium or mixures of the two (though you will never need anything other than argon with that power source)

yea... go figure this guy has been in the welding supplies biz for 12 years.... wonder why he was insisting i run 75/25? and yea pneufab i cant wait to start playin with this thing on some aluminum ive heard great things about it.

you should use gas with Techron then strike the arc

The c02 gives more penetration but not as much of a good looking weld...people use 75/25, 90/10 and other mixes like that. I've never heard of people using a mixture, just straight argon or you can also use helium like if you are doing big heavy aluminum. Helium is actually what TIG started out with, which is why a lot of old timers call it Heli arc instead of tig.

when working with a mig the co2 gives better penetration, but with the tig it makes a schitty weld i guess because if you break it down its made up of 1 carbon and 2 oxygens, and your goal is to have as little carbon in the weld area as possible...

show me a good TIG weld with 75/25 or 90/10 argon/ CO2 (not argon helium)it's not going to happen period, end or story

some people argue about the dumbest things on hereCris , your comment on some other thread about google being 87% correct but a minitrucker being 5% correct but said with such confidence or whatever, was right on.
