No that's Pimp my Ride! They did say it a lot but that was the name of the project.
So what if it doesn't lay out! It's still a nice FREE ride that will turn heads!
I'm not even putting air bags on my truck because to me that seems to be the "normal" thing to do these days. If you don't like it that's fine with me because you didn't pay for it and you don't own it!
you hit the nail on the head with that post. did you hear it when they were talking about the shows and winning the lottery and the dude said as long as it is not pimp my ride. that was funny as hell
That paint job was sick. I also really liked what they did with the grill.
The truck turned out great...anyone who has anything negative must be gay
i heard that when you get your car back you got to pay taxes on all the work and new parts on the ride. just what i heard don't know if its true.
^^^^ i heard the same thing. fucking government...
word on the street is pimp my ride doesnt even use peoples cars anymore. they find buckets and then find people to "pimp" em for.
Anything over $10k you have to pay a gift tax.
Q: What is the gift tax?
The gift tax is a tax on the transfer of property by one individual to another while receiving nothing, or less than full value, in return. The tax applies whether the donor intends the transfer to be a gift or not.
The gift tax applies to the transfer by gift of any property. You make a gift if you give property (including money), or the use of or income from property, without expecting to receive something of at least equal value in return. If you sell something at less than its full value or if you make an interest-free or reduced-interest loan, you may be making a gift.
Q: Who pays the gift tax?
The donor is generally responsible for paying the gift tax. Under special arrangements the donee may agree to pay the tax instead. Please visit with your tax professional if you are considering this type of arrangement.
I hope you dont have to pay - the guy that owns the tahoe couldnt afford the $500-600 bux he thought it was gonna cost to get the truck out of impound - no longer to pay to get his truck running to get it smogged - no longer to pay taxes on the mods!!
i heard that they have a loop hole - like on the extreme makeover home addition - on that show they "lease" your house for a week and improvements made to your house by someone else who's leasing it are not subject to taxation by the government. id say overhaulins doing the same thing
what i want to know is - how long they get to keep your ride after its done - you all noticed you can see them driving those vehicles or they are at some of the bigger shows that come to your town - hell they even advertise for the events - "come see overhaulins tahoe...."
not to mention boyds show - WTF do they always have these "deadlines" to meet yet you can watch episode after episode and see those vehicles that had to get done and to the customer are almost all - sitting in the background of the next build.....
they prolly coming back to fix all the crap that now leaking, loose or wrong to meet the deadline or the "deadline" makes great tv!!
Im sure those deadlines are are BS. unless they are trying to make a show. How many of us have been up 24 before a show trying to get our rides together..
... and you are 100% right about the lease for the houses on the maker over shows. Renter improvments become part of the house once the lease is up.... 1st couple of shows they found out the hard way.
