relays are extremely important. the brains that do not have them built in only send out a pulse that is to drive a relay. a relay will take the input voltage, and by using an electromagnetic coil, will boost the voltage as much as 200 to 1. please use relays.

I have the same 35 Spal kit,the relays are on their own mounting, one for each solenoid!
And you should always run one in line with all accessories!LC, even told me to run one with the Crane ignition.

you guys positive about that? i know with the spal kit it only says you need relays on channels 3-7 because those are only triggered lines ch 1 and 2 for the door solenoids are some heavy ass like 12g or 10g wire.

that is b/c 1 and 2 have built in relays.. you can hear the box clicking when you push the button, that is the built in relay.. 3-7 do need relay(s) if you add to it, like I have.. my channel 3 is front up on my bags.

I use a rod that you would get in a door lock acutator you should be able to get at any audio shop.

thats not the spal kit i have, channels 1 and 2 are wired to a seperate set of spade connectors and 3-7 are on a molex connector. if i press my button for channel 2 which isnt hooked up yet it clicks the relay in the brain because ch 1 and 2 already are on relays.

here is what spal says about wiring my kit
