Jimmy, I could probably give you alot of the information you need to convert a gas powered vehicle to electric. And it isn't tough to find a electric motor "big enough" to power it, there are all kinds of retrofited vehicles around. I know there is a pretty decent sized club devoted strictly to that in KC, I'm sure there is probably one in STL too.

Wayne, yes I have heard of the KC club for EV's up in your neck of the woods. I would like to get a dual output shaft 9 inch Advanced DC motor for it. Solar cells would rock for a bed cover! I want to run the 6 or 8 volt golf cart leaded acid batteries- like 25 of them.
